Frequently Asked Questions
-
Our maximum capacity is five dogs. We are usually close to or at capacity on weekends and holidays.
-
We are a small-scale boarding facility and aim to create a more home-centered approach to pet care. We firmly believe there is no one-size-fits-all solution that works for every dog and try to be as flexible as possible. While we do have kennels, many dogs never spend any time in them when they are here.
-
We try to keep the dog’s nightly routine similar to what they are used to at home. If your dog is used to sleeping with someone else close by, we will accommodate that. Or if they are used to sleeping elsewhere (i.e., a kennel or another room), they are welcome to sleep there instead. Our goal is always to make sure your pet is as comfortable as possible, so we generally let the dogs sleep in the place they feel most secure, as long as it’s safe for them to do so. This means we do not let dogs sleep outside.
-
Yes, a meet-and-greet is required before booking if your dog has not been here before. We believe the meeting beforehand will help both you and your dog feel more comfortable in the space during the stay.
Once you have done the meet-and-greet once, you do not have to do it again.
-
You can reach us anytime via our contact page. We aim to respond quickly—usually within one business day.
You will then be provided with other contact methods, including a phone number.
-
For privacy reasons, we do not include our phone number anywhere online. If you are interested in contacting us via phone, please fill out the contact form and include your phone number. We are happy to connect then via text or phone call if that is preferable for you.
-
For privacy reasons, we do not share our address anywhere online. If you are interested, please fill out the contact form, and you will receive the address when you book a meet-and-greet.
For reference, we are located in Elginburg, ON, not far from Loughborough Lake and the Limestone Creamery. You can find a map with the general area on our home page.
-
Typically, we provide updates once per day, unless you prefer something different. You are always welcome to message any time to ask after your pet and we will respond as soon as possible.
-
We do not offer one-on-one boarding, and will not refuse other requests, so one dog or pack can be boarded alone.
All dogs who are boarded here must be able to be around other dogs.
-
We do take unfixed and pregnant dogs. However, it is important you let us know upon booking if your dog is not fixed and when they are next due for their heat (if applicable). We try not to have unfixed males and females here at the same time.
Every dog is unique, so you may not find all the answers you are looking for here. If you have any other questions that have not been answered here or in the About section, please feel free to fill out the contact form, and we will be happy to answer them via email or phone.
